Prenatal Yoga

For:  Pregnant Women (friends and partners welcome to join in class)

Pregnancy is a wonderful time to begin a yoga practice! New students and experienced yoginis alike will appreciate how this class connects you to baby and prepares you, body and heart, for childbirth. We guide you gracefully through meditation, breathing, and movement that provides much-needed relaxation while strengthening the muscles that support your growing baby during pregnancy and labor. Reconnect with your body's innate wisdom about birth, and connect with other moms in a safe, open community that encourages you to freely discuss your concerns, joys, discomforts, and the many wonders that you, your body, and your baby are experiencing.

You may begin your practice at any point in your pregnancy--read more here.  You do not need to have prior yoga experience--we have women of all levels in our Prenatal Yoga classes.

BYOB* Yoga: *Bring Your Own Baby

For:  Grown-up and Baby together!

Nurture your baby while caring for yourself. The Yoga Bonding sequence, created by Lisa Bergly, lets baby in on the yoga action, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Through loving touch, sight, and sound, you (moms, dads, grandmas, and other caregivers) build a strong bond of trust and security–the foundation of self confidence for baby. The class also offers a chance for moms (or dads!) to connect with other new moms, and to be a part of a warm, supportive community. Moms are welcome to feed baby (by breast or bottle) any time during class in the studio, and to change baby's diaper any time too. In fact, this class helps baby work up an appetite, make impressive diapers, and sleep, sleep, sleep! BYOB is great for moms who are feeling fine at 6 weeks postpartum. Mamas who had a Cesarean-section should wait a little longer–8 to 10 weeks; check with your doctor or midwife. Babies can begin Yoga Bonding at any time, and tend to enjoy the class until they are crawling (at which point you'll want to check out BYOB*Crawlers!).  For more information, visit www.YogaBonding.com
