Safety & Accreditation
The midwives providing care in the Birth Center are licensed by the State of Minnesota. The birth center is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health. Health Foundations requires that all the midwives and midwifery assistants hold current CPR and neonatal resuscitation provider (NRP) cards. Emergency equipment and medications are available for mother and baby at all times whether at home or at the Birth Center.
When necessary, consultation with an obstetrician, family physician or pediatrician, along with transport to the hospital is provided for our clients.
Nationally Accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers
Health Foundations Birth Center is accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers. To achieve accreditation, a birth center's services are comprehensively evaluated against national standards of quality care. Accreditation is a mark of excellence. It is an indicator to families, insurance companies and other health care providers that the center has been reviewed by outside evaluators and found to provide consistent high quality care.
