Childbirth Education

We are thrilled to offer a full childbirth education series specifically designed for Health Foundations Families! Join other families choosing to deliver at the birth center for a five-week childbirth education class.  Class topics include:

  • preparing for labor,
  • stages of labor,
  • comfort measures,
  • writing a birth plan
  • labor variations

The series has a strong emphasis on the partner’s role and how the partner can support the laboring women.  In fact, one class is taught by a Health Foundations dad, who shares tips and tricks for labor.  Each class includes a birth video, relaxation technique or labor rehearsal, snack break and ample time for questions and discussion.  But don't just listen to our instructor, close the series with Health Foundations families sharing their birthing experience at the birth center.

The series is held in the Health Foundations studio.  Each class is 2.5 hours for 5 consecutive weeks.  When planning for your series, include a possible 6 weeks of instruction (allowing for one cancellation) and schedule your class to end within 2 to 8 weeks of your guess date.

Class materials include the class material binder and on loan for the series: Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, The Birth Partner, and the ibirth DVD.

Class cost is $300 payable the first night of the series.  Class size limited.

The class is a fantastic way to connect with other families choosing an out of hospital birth.  It is taught by our childbirth educator Rochelle Matos.
