Jessica Gustafson, L.Ac., Acupuncturist
I’m an acupuncturist and body worker. I love providing care for moms, their partners and their little ones and they love how I create individual care plans, provide professional and cost-effective treatments and work with other members of their care team. But the end of the day, what they really get is a greater sense of health through exploring their mind-body-spirit connection.
I’m more than just an acupuncturist, I’m a partner and a guide. I’m here to support you on your healing journey.
In 2011 I attended Northwestern Health Science University’s Massage Program, graduating with my AAS in Massage in 2012. In this program I focused on pain and stress management, and learned Trigger Point therapy, reflexology, geriatrics and hospice care, and Swedish massage. After this program I immediately began NWHSU’s Master’s program in Oriental Medicine completing my degree in 2015 and I attained my NCCAOM Diplomate status later the same year. While I attended this program, I also pursued a certification in CranioSacral techniques from the Heartwood Institute.
My internships included the Salvation Army, the Masonic Children's hospital, the University of Minnesota Medical Center and the Regions hospital orthopedic wing. Through these internships I learned how to manage pain, anxiety and depression while working as part of an integratedmedical team. These internships founded my experience with complementary medicine - a philosophy I will carry with me for the rest of my practice.
In the beginning, my practice focused mainly on musculoskeletal complaints, and of course, anxiety and depression. But my desire to start a family and maintain a healthy pregnancy threw me into the world of women's health and to further develop my pediatrics practice.
