Twin Cities Birth Center + Women’s Health Clinic is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, HealthPartners, Medica, United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Preferred One, Medical Assistance (MA), UCare and the Multiplan and PHCS Networks. We also accept medical cost-sharing groups such as Samaritan Ministries and Christian Medi-Share.

Can I still be seen at Twin Cities if I have a plan you are not in-network with or I do not have insurance?

Yes! We do offer a self-pay option that is a discounted rate from our regular fees. Contact our billing department at 612-213-2481 to learn more about this option.

Can I assume I am covered if my insurance is listed?

It’s always a good idea to call and verify your benefits before beginning care with any new provider. Every health plan is different and you will need to confirm Twin Cities Birth Center is an in-network provider for you and gain an understanding of your benefits.

Maternity Care Billing Policies

Maternity Care Billing Policies

Our Billing Specialist will review your benefits with you following your intake visit. We will provide an estimate of what your out of pocket expenses will be and discuss payment options with you. We still recommend contacting your insurance company about your maternity benefits before your first appointment.

Maternity care is billed as a "global package".  This means we will submit one insurance claim for all of your prenatal visits, delivery, and postpartum care once you have delivered your baby.

Exceptions to this may include:

  • Your first visit which establishes care with Twin Cities Birth Center + Women’s Health Clinic and is not considered a prenatal visit

  • Your 20-week ultrasound

  • Any additional ultrasounds or fetal stress tests

  • Lab work

  • Any "problem visits" (an example of this is if you come in for a urinary tract infection)

These services will be billed at the time of service.

Are there any other charges I should expect after delivery?

In addition to the global maternity package, we bill a facility fee for mom and any additional items that were received during your delivery (such as pharmaceuticals). Also, some charges post-birth will be billed under your baby such as their examinations before going home and a facility fee for baby. These charges will be billed to the baby’s insurance.

We realize the expenses associated with having a baby can quickly add up and we do not want you to be worried about this during your postpartum period. Payment options will be discussed after your initial visit.
